Only the very best will do. Wonderful accommodations while on the
road for both humans and dogs alike.
We travel to shows in a 36 foot Fun Mover motorhome, again set up for the
comfort of the dogs. It has two roof air units, two roof vents and windows. We
spend the nights sleeping with the dogs to ensure their comfort and safety.
I pride myself in showing dogs who represent their standard well and are in
top notch condition. We have seventeen 12 ft long chainlink runs, two larger
paddock areas and 14 Pomeranian/toy runs all with security fencing surrounding.
The indoor area has a large dog room located just off my home laundry room and a
separate bathing/grooming room. I love having the dogs close at all times. The
dog room/grooming room leads straight into my home and the dogs are allowed time
in the house and are treated as part of our family.
Currently I live about one hour north of St Louis, Missouri, in the small town
of Jerseyville, Illinois. Together with my husband, Michael Allway, we breed and
share our home with Tibetan Terriers. We also have 4 house cats including 2 show
cats. Mike also has an interest in Pointers and owns 3 of them. Our home is set up completely for the
comfort of the animals who reside here and allow us to live with them.
Growing up in this sport I have been exposed to many top winning
dogs of various breeds: Rottweilers, Briards, Bearded Collies, Soft
Coated Wheaten Terriers, Pomeranians, Tibetan Terriers, Lhasa Apsos,
Havanese, Akitas and Portuguese Water Dogs to name just a few. I
have shown group winners in all seven AKC groups and Best in Shows
with multiple breeds as well. I have handled winners of National
Specialties in Pomeranians, Tibetan Terriers (X 3), and Finnish
Lapphunds.
I have been involved in dogs my entire life. I grew up attending dog
shows with my parents, Brian and Cindy Meyer, who were also
professional dog handlers. They met while working for professional
handler Larry and Alice Downey and later married. They are now
retired from handling and are AKC judges. My mother’s parents bred
and showed German Shepherds while my father’s parents bred and
showed Boxers. My grandma was an AKC obedience judge. So my entire
family is a dog family. I received my first show dog, a whippet, at
the age of 8 and have been competing ever since.
